Enhanced remote astronomical archive system based on the file-level Unlimited Sliding-Window technique

Abstract Data archiving is one of the most critical issues for modern astronomical observations. With development a new generation radio telescopes, transfer and massive remote data have become urgent problems to be solved. Herein, we present practical robust file-level flow-control approach, called Unlimited Sliding-Window (USW), by referring classic method in TCP protocol. Based on USW Next Generation Archive System (NGAS) developed Murchison Widefield Array telescope, further implemented an enhanced archive system (ENGAS) using ZeroMQ middleware. The ENGAS substantially improves performance ensures integrity transferred files. In tests, approximately three twelve times faster than NGAS can fully utilize bandwidth network links. Thus, observation data, reduces communication time, utilization, solves synchronous from observatories such as Mingantu spectral radioheliograph. It also provides better reference future construction Square Kilometer (SKA) Science Regional Center.
